When you handle other people’s data, trust starts with keeping that data secure. So we’re pleased to share that Swift Analytics has achieved Cyber Essentials certification from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
What Cyber Essentials Is
Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed scheme that helps organisations protect themselves against the most common cyber attacks. To certify, you have to demonstrate a set of essential security controls: firewall configuration, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection, and patch management. They aren’t glamorous, but they cover the ground where most attacks actually land.
Why It Matters
For us, the certification is less about ticking a regulatory box and more about building security into how we work day to day. In data and analytics consultancy, data is both our most valuable asset and our responsibility, so having solid defences in place is a given rather than a nice-to-have. For our clients and partners, it’s a clear signal that their data is handled and protected to a recognised standard.
The Journey to Certification
Getting there meant an honest look at our existing security, working out where we could do better, and putting those improvements in place across our systems and processes. That effort strengthened our security posture and gave us a sharper understanding of how threats evolve and why staying ahead of them takes ongoing attention.
Wrapping Up
Cyber Essentials is one step in a longer commitment to doing security well, not a finish line. Threats keep changing, so we will too. We’re glad to share this with our clients and partners, and we’ll keep the same care going as things move on.
